Maxi-Aeration™ DO System

TYPES OF SYSTEMS         The Maxi-Aeration System can include any of the following components.


Maxi-Aeration Control

The Maxi-Aeration Control includes a proprietary-designed All-Star VFD (variable frequency drive) for aeration applications  in a IP 20 enclosure.  This VFD has been designed and programmed specifically for aeration applications.

This control provides a variable frequency that is used to change the speed of the blower.  Without any other accessories or sensors, this unit is suitable for use with a handheld monitor.  Based upon the DO reading, the CFM flow can be manually increase or decrease to the aeration basin.

This control also acts as a starter and can be programmed for a soft start of your blower.

A current limit function provides added protection of the blower motor.

Options:  The control can be located in your existing enclosure or supplied in any NEMA type enclosure, for location indoors or outdoors.

Voltages:  The control is available in all voltages and frequencies.


Maxi-Aeration Controller

The Maxi-Aeration Controller gathers several input sensor signals, processes them and sends the signals to the Control to alter the CFM air flow.  The Controller also includes the following:

  • DO Set-Point Indicator/Control
    The DO Set-point allows the User to set the desired DO level.  In addition, it provides a constant indication of the actual DO level.

  • Temperature Indicator
    A temperature indicator provides direct digital readout of the blower's discharge air temperature.  A temperature signal is sent to the Control to limit the maximum discharge temperature of the blower.

  • Additional Indicators
    A variety of other indicators can be mounted in this enclosure.


DO Sensor

The DO sensor provides a signal to the Maxi-Aeration Controller.  The Controller compares the signal to the DO set-point level and sends a signal to the Control to either increase or decrease the CFM flow.

Recognizing there are numerous sensors available at various prices and customer preferences, the design of the Maxi-Aeration Controller is compatible with any DO sensor that provides a 0-10 vdc or 4-20ma output signal.

When the Maxi-Aeration System is applied to existing WWT sites, the existing DO sensor can be used, if it provides the required output signal noted above.


Temperature RTD

A temperature RTD sensor is installed in the blower's discharge silencer housing to monitor and limit the maximum discharge temperature.
